Preventive medicine focuses on preventing diseases before they occur. It is divided into three levels of prevention : 1. Primary Prevention (Preventing Disease Before It Occurs) Vaccination (e.g., flu shots, childhood immunizations) Healthy lifestyle (balanced diet, exercise, avoiding smoking & alcohol) Sanitation & hygiene (clean water, handwashing) Health education (awareness campaigns on nutrition, mental health) Environmental measures (reducing pollution, workplace safety) 2. Secondary Prevention (Early Detection & Treatment) Screenings & check-ups (blood pressure, cancer screening, diabetes tests) Early diagnosis (identifying diseases in the early stages) Regular medical exams (physical exams, dental check-ups) Lifestyle modifications (managing pre-diabetes, controlling cholesterol) 3.
